Master Bathroom Remodeled in Waukesha
S&K Remodeling recently completed a Master Bathroom remodel at the home of a Waukesha customer. The existing wallpapered bathroom was out of date: it had a vanity makeup area which was no longer used, no GFCI circuit, wall to wall mirror, outdated light fixtures and a modular shower. In addition, the bathtub wasn’t deep enough and parts were no longer available to repair the tub valve.
S&K stripped all the wallpaper and flooring, tore out the modular shower and shower door, removed the lighting, tub deck, bathtub, vanities and countertops. We updated the electrical to code and added plumbing for a second lavatory sink.
After repairing the drywall, we installed Holiday, Harrisburg Square, cherry cabinets in a Fireside finish with matching framed mirrors. The new vanity features Giallo Napoleon granite tops. The custom shower has a stone mosaic tile shower floor, Lidra Matt tile shower walls, two (2) niches for shampoo and soap, Murcia Stone listello and stone pencils for accent. The shower has a heavy 3/8” glass frameless shower surround. The tub deck tile elegantly matches the shower.
The bathroom floor was finished in stone 13" x 13" tile set on a diagonal. New Kohler fixtures were installed, including a Wellworth water closet and seat, Devonshire soaking tub and Caxton undermount lavatory sinks with Hansgrohe Swing C lavatory faucets, shower valve trims and Roman tub faucet in an oil rubbed bronze finish. The electrical was brought up to code, with new sconce light fixtures, recessed can light fixtures and exhaust fans added. We installed Creative Specialites, Brantford, oil rubbed bronze accessories.
The remodel is gorgeous! The bathroom is truly a show piece of this 1970’s home, so much that the customer even wanted to have her Christmas party in the bathroom. Instead of that, S&K Remodeling has since removed the wallpaper in the stairway, foyer, dining room and powder room on the 1st floor of the house, repaired the drywall, updated the powder room and painted all of these areas. Now the entire house has a 2000’s look and is suitable for Christmas parties.
