New Berlin Bathroom Remodeling
S&K Remodeling recently completed a full master bathroom renovation in New Berlin. The project started by demoing the entire space down to the studs, including the removal of the recessed linen closet walls behind the shower. We reframed the shower to include a tiled bench and built-in niche for shampoo and soap storage. Venting from the water heater was relocated to accommodate a recessed medicine cabinet, and we raised the lighting height for better illumination. The walls were refinished with sand-textured drywall, and a new GFCI outlet was added for safe convenience.
We installed Pietra Porcelain Beige 13x13 tiles on the floor and shower walls, using a diagonal layout to visually expand the room. The shower floor, bench and niche feature matching 2x2 tiles, and a custom border of 6x6 diagonal tiles framed with 2x2 trim adds a designer touch. The same tile wainscoting runs behind the vanity and toilet, capped with a bullnose finish for a seamless, cohesive look. A frameless 3/8” glass shower enclosure with oil-rubbed bronze hardware and dual 18” towel bars finishes the space. The glass is treated with Clear Shield for easier cleaning.
Additional upgrades include Kohler Devonshire fixtures in an oil-rubbed bronze finish, a Wood-Pro Prestige maple vanity and recessed cabinet and a Hanstone Maple Canyon quartz countertop with a biscuit Kohler Caxton undermount sink. We installed a new Kohler Cimarron comfort-height toilet with a round bowl and matching biscuit seat, along with a quiet Broan exhaust fan vented to the home’s exterior.
Final touches included full wall and ceiling painting, new base and shoe molding and matching Kohler Devonshire accessories: towel ring, robe hooks and toilet paper holder.
